Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with statutory and tax regulations. The role involves supervision of junior accounting staff, preparation of financial statements, reconciliation, and support for audits and budgeting activities.
Key Responsibilities:1. Accounting & Financial Management
- Maintain and oversee all accounting records – vouchers, ledgers, and journal entries.
- Ensure timely posting of transactions in accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, QuickBooks).
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
- Handle accounts payable, receivable, and bank reconciliation.
- Manage fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules.
2. Taxation & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory regulations.
- Prepare and file monthly/quarterly GST returns and TDS statements.
- Assist in tax audits, statutory audits, and internal audits.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and taxation rules.
3. Budgeting & MIS Reporting
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor budget variances and provide analytical reports to management.
- Generate MIS reports on receivables, payables, and expense analysis.
4. Payroll & Expense Management
- Oversee salary processing, reimbursement claims, and related accounting entries.
- Coordinate with HR for statutory deductions like PF, ESIC, and professional tax.
- Monitor and control employee advances and expense reports.
5. Coordination & Audit Support
- Liaise with auditors, banks, and government authorities.
- Ensure timely closure of books at month-end and year-end.
- Support audit teams with required documentation and clarifications.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) / CA Inter / CMA Inter
- Experience: 4–8 years in accounting, finance, or audit roles
- Software Knowledge: Tally Prime, MS Excel (advanced), ERP systems (SAP / Oracle preferred)
- Knowledge: Accounting principles, taxation, audit procedures, and financial reporting
