Job Title: Senior Accountant
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage general accounting operations, prepare financial statements, conduct financial analysis, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of accounting principles, advanced analytical skills, and experience with full-cycle accounting and month-end close procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Reporting
- Manage the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Prepare and analyze accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Cash Flows) in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
- Maintain and reconcile all general ledger accounts, including cash, fixed assets, accruals, and intercompany transactions.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring proper recording and reconciliation.
- Review and approve journal entries prepared by junior staff.
Analysis, Budgeting & Compliance
- Conduct complex financial analysis and variance analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, and provide recommendations to management.
- Assist in the development, monitoring, and analysis of the annual budget and periodic financial forecasts.
- Coordinate and facilitate external and internal audits, preparing required schedules and serving as a key point of contact.
- Ensure tax compliance by assisting with the preparation of tax returns and supporting documentation.
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
Leadership & Process Improvement
- Mentor and train junior accountants and accounting staff, reviewing their work for accuracy and compliance.
- Proactively identify and implement opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes and workflows for improved efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments (e.g., Operations, HR) to ensure accurate financial reporting and data consistency.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably with full-cycle general ledger management.
- In-depth working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or IFRS.
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, complex formulas).
- Proven experience with a major ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) or advanced accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Enterprise).
- Solid understanding of financial and tax regulations.
