Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Associate to manage a portfolio of UK-based clients. The role involves overseeing end-to-end accounting processes, reviewing financial outputs, ensuring compliance with UK regulations, and providing strategic financial insights. The ideal candidate will be confident working independently, managing deadlines, and supporting other team members.
Job Description –Accounts Associate
· Manage a portfolio of UK clients, including bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial reporting
· Prepare and submit statutory accounts from source records in compliance with UK regulations
· Review and finalise VAT returns, corporation tax computations, and personal tax returns
· Process payroll, including RTI submissions, pension compliance, and HMRC reporting requirements
· Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely reporting across all client accounts
· Perform month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance
· Prepare and review financial statements, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and supporting schedules
· Review bank, supplier, and customer reconciliations to ensure completeness and accuracy
· Ensure full compliance with HMRC regulations and UK accounting standards
· Analyse financial performance and provide actionable insights and recommendations to clients
· Develop advanced financial reports and dashboards using Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, formulas)
· Work with accounting software including Sage, QuickBooks, and Xero
· Act as the primary point of contact for clients, handling queries and providing advisory support
· Supervise and mentor junior accountants, ensuring quality control and timely delivery of work
· Handle multiple client portfolios independently while meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards of accuracy
