You Are:

UST is seeking an innovative and hands-on Sr. AI/ML Engineer to join our AI transformation team. In this pivotal role, you will move beyond traditional modeling to design and deploy scalable AI Agents and GenAI frameworks.


The opportunity:

  • AI Agent & GenAI Development
  • Build Autonomous Agents: Design and deploy AI Agents using LangGraph, Google Agent Space, and the Agent Development Kit (ADK) to automate workflows, code generation, and data analysis tasks.
  • GenAI Solutions: Develop advanced RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines and LLM applications using LangChain and LlamaIndex, ensuring context awareness and high accuracy.
  • Machine Learning & Engineering
  • End-to-End Pipelines: Build and manage scalable ML pipelines from data ingestion to deployment, ensuring robust data wrangling and feature engineering.
  • API Development: Expose AI models and agents as consumable services using FastAPI, ensuring low latency and high availability.
  • Strategy & Leadership
  • Technical Leadership: Drive the technical roadmap for AI initiatives, aligning development teams toward strategic objectives.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Translate complex product and business requirements into ML-driven solutions, collaborating closely with SMEs, UX teams, and Product Managers.

What you need:

  • Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5-7 years of professional experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or AI Engineering.
  • Programming: Expert-level proficiency in Python and SQL with strong software engineering principles (clean code, version control).
  • Core ML Stack: Expert proficiency in Python data stack (Scikit-learn, Pandas, NumPy, Statsmodels).
  • Deep Learning: Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow for complex non-linear problems.
  • GenAI Stack: Hands-on experience with LLMs (Prompt Engineering, Fine-tuning) and orchestration frameworks like ADK, LangChain, and LangGraph.
  • Cloud & DevOps: Strong understanding of Google Cloud Platform (GCP), specifically Google Vertex AI. Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • API Integration: Experience building and deploying applications using FastAPI.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Google Agent Space and ADK (Agent Development Kit).
  • Background in automating SDLC processes or building developer productivity tools.
  • Knowledge of Vector Databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus).
  • Adaptability & Mindset
  • Learning Agility: A proven ability to rapidly upskill. You must be able to move from training a Logistic Regression model one day to fine-tuning a Llama-3 model the next.
  • Problem-Solving Versatility: You understand when to use a simple rule-based system, when to use a Regressor, and when to use an LLM Agent. You do not force GenAI into every problem.
  • Automation First: A mindset focused on automating your own workflows and the SDLC processes around you.

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Role Location: Ontario

Compensation Range: $115,000-$144,000


Benefits

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They and their dependents residing in Canada are eligible for Supplemental Healthcare coverage, as well as Company-paid Employee Only basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.

Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year). They and their dependents residing in Canada are eligible for Supplemental Healthcare coverage, as well as Company-paid Employee Only basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.

Part-time regular and temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).

All Canadian employees who work in a province, territory or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
