Job Overview
The Data Operations Specialist plays a critical role in executing, monitoring, and optimizing essential batch and ETL processes that support business functions across LPL. This position ensures operational accuracy, stability, and adherence to SLAs while partnering closely with data engineering teams, third-party vendors, and key internal business partners. The specialist will also support user training, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to enhancements that improve performance and efficiency across the batch ecosystem.
Responsibilities
Process critical batch and ETL jobs while ensuring all activities meet established policies and SLAs
Ensure operational controls are in place; collaborate closely with Data Engineering to maintain strong governance practices
Oversee and validate the processing of key inbound and outbound data sources
Identify opportunities for actionable improvements, optimizations, and scalability
Provide hands-on training and support to the user community regarding data and reporting workflows
Work directly with third-party data suppliers to deliver a full view of client investments
Contribute to shaping the vision and strategy of the data batch practice
Oversee and process client letter statements required for regulatory purposes
Process early-morning critical batch operations (beginning at 6:00 AM ET) and escalate issues that may impact mandated SLAs
Serve as primary or secondary backup for critical processes managed by other batch team members
Address and escalate cloud-based failures, including DAG issues within Airflow pipelines
Support research and enhancements across all batch processing activities

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in data operations, ETL, batch processing, or related fields
2 years with commercial scheduling tools such as AutoSys, BMC Control-M, or similar systems
2 years in AWS and Airflow supporting cloud-based ETL and real-time data pipelines
4 years experience within the financial services industry supporting high-availability, high-performance environments
Core Competencies
Operational excellence and attention to detail
Problem-solving and analytical capability
Ability to work effectively under time-sensitive conditions
Preferences
Experience coordinating with third-party financial data suppliers
Background supporting NSCC or Direct Business data processes
Familiarity with client statement workflows or other regulatory data outputs
