Position Title

Senior Architect Engineer

Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Architect Engineer to join our high-rise building project team in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing architectural works from design coordination through construction and project completion, ensuring compliance with project specifications, local authority regulations, quality standards, and project schedules.

The Senior Architect Engineer will coordinate closely with consultants, subcontractors, site teams, and government authorities to ensure successful project delivery while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and functionality.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Technical Coordination

• Review and coordinate architectural drawings, specifications, and material submissions.
• Ensure architectural designs comply with project requirements, Dubai Municipality regulations, Civil Defense requirements, and applicable UAE codes and standards.
• Coordinate architectural interfaces with structural, MEP, and specialist systems.
• Review shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals before submission to consultants.
• Identify and resolve design conflicts and technical issues during construction.

Construction Management

• Supervise and monitor all architectural site activities including finishes, façade works, waterproofing, fit-out, and external works.
• Ensure architectural works are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections to verify workmanship and compliance.
• Monitor progress and provide solutions to maintain project schedules.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely completion of works.

Quality Assurance & Quality Control

• Implement and monitor quality control procedures for architectural works.
• Conduct inspections and prepare snagging and de-snagging reports.
• Ensure all architectural installations meet consultant and client requirements.
• Participate in testing, commissioning, and project handover activities.
• Maintain records of inspections, approvals, and quality documentation.

Authority & Consultant Coordination

• Liaise with consultants, clients, and relevant authorities regarding architectural approvals and inspections.
• Assist in obtaining necessary approvals and permits from relevant authorities.
• Attend coordination meetings and provide technical support regarding architectural matters.
• Address consultant comments and ensure timely closure of NCRs and observations.

Project Planning & Reporting

• Monitor progress against approved project schedules.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Assist in planning architectural work sequences and resource allocation.
• Identify potential delays and recommend corrective actions.

Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance

• Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements and company safety policies.
• Promote safe working practices among site personnel and subcontractors.
• Participate in safety inspections and toolbox talks as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering.
• Professional registration or membership in a recognized architectural body is preferred.
• Certification in project management or quality management is an advantage.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 10–15 years of experience in construction projects.
• Minimum 5 years of UAE experience in high-rise building projects.
• Proven experience working with main contractors on residential, commercial, mixed-use, or tower developments.
• Strong knowledge of architectural finishes, façade systems, waterproofing, fit-out works, and authority requirements.
• Experience coordinating with consultants, clients, and government authorities in Dubai.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong understanding of Dubai Municipality regulations and local building codes.
• Knowledge of authority approval processes and project documentation.
• Ability to review and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with quality management systems and construction methodologies.
