This opportunity entails being responsible for supporting transit and rail planning in Advisory. This position applies understanding of this specific practice area and the HNTB business model to ensure 4for4 delivery and effective project performance while utilizing their technical expertise to advise and support Advisory and HNTB clients on projects and programs nationwide.

The position is Connecticut-based, but seeks to leverage relationships in the transit and rail practice to grow this part of our business nationwide. Project management and oversight experience is also necessary as this position will also be managing individual assignments.

What You'll Do:

  • Provides strategic advice, analysis, report preparation and presentations to staff-level clients. Ability to initiate and advance drafts of technical and/or commercial documentation including commercial terms or structuring, business case reports, procurement strategies, proposals, delivery options analyses, etc.
  • Executes assigned work with minimal supervision. Establishes and ensures timely completion of tasks, reviews, and content creation, while providing support and limited oversight of junior team members. Manages external sub-consultants (e.g., financial, legal, and insurance advisors) and coordinates tasks while overseeing and assessing their work.
  • Supports senior Advisory staff on their interactions with clients by preparing for meetings, briefings, and phone calls.
  • Supports senior Advisory staff and the line organization in pursuit of strategically important clients and project opportunities, providing technical expertise and market knowledge to local/regional marketing teams as appropriate.
  • Identifies opportunities to enhance Advisory service offerings and collaborates with team members to proactively develop solutions to ensure 4for4 delivery. Supports senior Advisory staff in preparing strategic plans, internal communications materials, and other initiatives to expand Advisory’s reach and impact across the firm.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Law, Engineering, Public Policy, Program Management, Construction Management, Information Technology or relevant field and 8 years of relevant experience; consulting, public administration, finance, law, management consulting.
  • Master's degree in relevant field and 6 years of relevant experience.
  • PhD/JD in relevant field and 4 years of relevant experience.

What We Prefer:

  • Specialized knowledge and experience in the relevant practice group (EOR, ID, PM or ST)
  • Broad general knowledge of the infrastructure industry, key players, policies and existing programs/precedent transactions
  • Strong professional connections across the infra industry
  • Strong communications, writing, quantitative skills
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Excel and ability to compile and analyze data and generate reports
  • Professional demeanor, able to independently interface with senior client leaders
  • Strategic thinker, able to see the broader picture beyond their assigned role
  • Experience in delivering projects for Connecticut Department of Transportation

The approximate pay range for Rocky Hill, CT is $136,239.94 - $213,093.23. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as physical work location within the state.
