The Senior Billing Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring accuracy, reliability, and continuous improvement within Amazon Web Services (AWS) billing operations across a global cloud marketplace environment. This role combines operational execution with analytical depth, helping transform billing into a more automated, data-driven capability.

The analyst will work closely with Billing Operations leadership, Product, and Engineering teams to enhance billing workflows, improve data quality, and contribute to automation and platform improvements.

Your role:

  • Perform validation and reconciliation of AWS billing and usage data to ensure accuracy prior to invoice generation.
  • Execute comprehensive data sanity checks and identify anomalies, gaps, or risks proactively.
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies related to pricing, discounts, file integrity, or usage data.
  • Support automation initiatives by identifying manual tasks and contributing to automation requirements.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to improve billing data flows and system reliability.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Contribute to root cause analysis and preventative solutions for recurring billing issues.
  • Support global billing cycles with strong operational discipline under tight timelines.
  • Maintain operational documentation and continuously improve standards and processes.

What you bring to the role:

  • 4+ years in billing operations, financial analytics, or cloud billing environments.
  • Experience working with AWS billing data, CUR files, or usage-based billing models.
  • Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience working with large datasets.
  • Ability to identify operational risks and drive structured resolution.

Preferred:

  • Experience with CloudCheckr, DoiT, or similar cloud billing optimization tools.
  • Exposure to automation or workflow improvement initiatives.
  • Experience working within platform, marketplace, or cloud ecosystem environments.
  • Familiarity with SQL, BI tools, or data visualization tools.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $49,500.00 - $79,200.00 per year.

The ranges above reflect the potential annual base pay across the U.S. for all roles; the applicable base pay range will depend on the candidate’s primary work location, pay grade, and variable compensation plan. Individual base pay within each range depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time of hire. New hires starting base pay generally falls in the bottom half (between the minimum and midpoint) of a pay range.
