Business Development Executive – Job Description

Position: Business Development Executive (BDE)

Department: Sales / Business Development

Experience: 0–5 Years

1. JOB SUMMARY

The Business Development Executive is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, generating leads, building client relationships, and contributing to overall company growth. The role involves sales, client communication, market research, and achieving monthly targets.

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead Generation & Prospecting

- Identify and develop new business opportunities through cold calling, emails, social media, and networking.

- Generate quality leads and schedule meetings with potential clients.

- Maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients.

Client Communication & Meetings

- Conduct sales calls, product demos, and presentations.

- Understand client requirements and propose suitable company products/services.

- Build long-term, trustworthy relationships with clients.

Sales & Revenue Growth

- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets.

- Prepare proposals, quotations, and negotiate pricing.

- Convert leads into sales and close deals effectively.

Market Research

- Research competitors, market trends, and potential opportunities.

- Identify new sectors, industries, and customer segments for business expansion.

Documentation & Reporting

- Update CRM/Excel with daily sales activities and lead status.

- Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports.

- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth delivery of services.

3. REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.

- Strong communication and presentation skills.

- Good negotiation and persuasion abilities.

- Ability to work independently and meet targets.

- Basic computer knowledge: MS Office, CRM tools, Email writing.

- Confident, self-motivated, and result-oriented personality.

4. PREFERRED SKILLS

- Experience in sales, business development, or client handling.

- Understanding of the industry (IT, Education, Real Estate, Retail, Staffing etc.).

- Ability to handle pressure and maintain professionalism.
