Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Buyer to join our dynamic Supply Chain team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the purchasing process, ensuring the timely acquisition of materials and services necessary for our operations. This position requires a deep understanding of supply chain management, negotiation skills, and proficiency in various ERP systems. The Senior Buyer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to optimize inventory levels and contribute to overall business objectives.

Duties

  • Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies to meet organizational needs.
  • Manage procurement processes, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and purchase order management.
  • Utilize ERP systems such as SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, and AS400 for inventory management and procurement activities.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess pricing trends.
  • Collaborate with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
  • Monitor supplier performance and establish metrics for evaluation.
  • Participate in production planning and merchandising efforts to align purchasing strategies with business goals.
  • Ensure compliance with contracts and procurement policies while managing risks associated with supply chain operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory control.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar role within materials management or procurement.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP principles and supply chain processes.
  • Proficiency in SAP ERP systems and other relevant software applications (JD Edwards, Oracle EBS).
  • Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract management.
  • Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and their integration into supply chain operations is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data related to pricing, inventory levels, and supplier performance.
  • Exceptional communication skills to effectively interact with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
