Dayforce-Hawaii-Associate-Hotel Purchasing [$17.00 - $22.50]
Primary Responsibilities: Under general direction, review, negotiate, coordinate, and establish all contracts with hotels, restaurants, and other business partners. Organize rates and conditions, and submit to relevant departments and Japan offices.

- Review, negotiate, and establish contracts for annual and seasonal current and future programs with hotels, restaurants, and all other business partners for various programs.
- Update and maintain contract information and tariff data in various computer systems, and distribute data to relevant departments and JTB companies for reference and publishing.

- Communicate with other department(s) and create a new workflow or procedures.
- Establish and maintain a viable communication network and good relationships with business partners. Create synergy with our vendors along with our counterparts in Japan.

Department Budget - Monitor our room nights to ensure we are on track to reach target and take necessary actions to reach them.

Consultant
- Consult planning staff to create better programs with applying your product knowledge.
- Compile relevant data for research and prepare information to be updated in JTB Hawaii homepage and other related systems.
Secondary Functions:- Periodically meet with contract accounts to discuss rates, conditions, and/or problems; report problems to management.
- Periodically conduct site inspections, tastings, and FAM tours to maintain updated knowledge of supplier products.
- Assist other departments or sections during peak periods as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:- High school diploma.
- Possess at least one (1) year travel industry or office experience.
- Able to professionally and effectively communicate and negotiate with employees, business partners, and clients in English and Japanese via written and verbal communication methods.
- Able to work independently as well as cooperatively with others, employees, business partners, and customers in a professional and positive manner.
- Able to comprehend, analyze, and prepare contract documents.
- Possess knowledge of Hawaii’s tourism infrastructure, and Japanese tour characteristics, culture, and customs.
- Possess working knowledge and skills of basic computer systems and software, application programs, e-mail, such as Office 365, and standard office equipment, as well as basic mathematical skills
- Possess valid Hawaii driver’s license and clean driver history preferred.
Working Conditions:
Working Hours
- Normal business hours: up to 40 hours per week, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday, and weekends if deemed necessary.
- Overtime may be required with prior management approval.
Environmental Conditions:- Subject to atmospheric conditions including: an air-conditioned office, large open room with approximately 200 employees and multiple computer consoles.
- Occasional travel to various locations outsider of the office where weather conditions may differ, including but not limited to noise, dust, pollution, fumes and vehicle exhaust.
