Qualifications

Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline)

Extensive experience in construction within the oil & gas industry
Experience
-
Minimum 12 years’ experience in offshore construction and installation activities
-
Proven experience in steel structure installation and commissioning for offshore projects
-
Strong knowledge of:
-
Piping & mechanical installation and commissioning
-
Lifting operations and lifting plan assessments
-
Experience applying construction best practices, systems, and standards
-
Good understanding of construction techniques across:
-
Greenfield & brownfield projects
-
Wellhead jackets
-
Strong skills in:
-
Construction management
-
Communication & coordination
-
Conflict resolution
-
Exposure to multi-discipline construction activities
-
Proficient in reviewing:
-
Method statements
-
Lifting plans
-
Inspection & test plans (ITPs)
-
Construction schedules and drawings
-
Ability to identify risks/bottlenecks and propose solutions
-
Comfortable working with multinational and multicultural teams
-
Computer literate with strong written and verbal communication skills
-
Solid knowledge of engineering standards, quality, HSE, and environmental practices
Key Responsibilities
-
Monitor and report contractor performance, manpower, equipment usage, and progress
-
Lead daily and weekly coordination meetings with contractors and key stakeholders
-
Identify and manage construction risks, ensuring mitigation actions are implemented
-
Review and validate progress reports and contractor submissions
-
Interface with engineering teams during engineering, procurement, and construction phases
-
Review:
-
Detailed design drawings
-
Method statements
-
Material requisitions and inspections
-
Evaluate contractor construction plans, schedules, procedures, and offshore logistics
-
Supervise construction activities across fabrication yards and offshore sites
-
Ensure all work complies with approved standards and contract specifications
-
Coordinate:
-
Pre-commissioning & commissioning activities
-
Walkdowns and system handover
-
Maintain daily site records and report any deviations or issues
-
Ensure compliance with permit-to-work systems and site requirements
-
Coordinate contractor mobilization and demobilization
-
Liaise with internal teams (engineering, operations, maintenance) to resolve issues
-
Highlight construction delays and provide corrective action plans
-
Support decision-making within project and contractual frameworks
-
Take ownership of site activities, including after-hours responsibilities when required.
