Heatcraft Worldwide Refrigeration is a long-standing leader in the world of commercial refrigeration, providing climate-control solutions to customers in more than 70 countries. Their state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in the cities of Stone Mountain and Tifton, Georgia, produce evaporators, condensers, compressor racks, and other top-quality refrigeration products for their five market-leading brands: Bohn, Larkin, Climate Control, Chandler, and InterLink. Heatcraft products are primarily used to preserve food and other perishables in supermarkets, convenience stores, restaurants, warehouses and distribution centers, in addition to other applications such as data centers, pharmaceutical and industrial process cooling.
The Senior Controls Engineer serves as an expert in electrical, electronic, and electromechanical systems. Responsibilities include specifying, developing, and qualifying embedded electronic controls and algorithms for refrigeration systems, supporting cross-functional teams, coordinating lab and engineering efforts, and acting as a liaison with trade associations. The role involves hands-on programming, troubleshooting, creating wiring schematics, project management, documentation of best practices, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Specify, develop and qualify embedded electronic controls and strategies for Refrigeration systems from ideation to the launch.

Support NPI and sustaining teams with controls and electrical expertise.

Provide technical controls support for sales and field services team.

Support Lab with controls, metrology, instrumentation and electrical expertise.

Hands-on experience with programming and troubleshooting
- Coordinates the efforts of engineers, CAD designers and technical support staff.

Expected to learn and follow company procedures and standards.

Will manage multiple projects/tasks including schedule and goal management.

Will lead engineering tasks for multi-stage product development projects.

Travel 5-10%.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) and 7+ years relevant experience

Experience in controls design, component selection, wiring diagrams

HVAC/Refrigeration a strong benefit

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

SAP experience is a plus
