Job Purpose

To lead and manage all costing activities within the company, ensuring accurate and timely calculation of product costs, variance analysis, and cost control processes. The Senior Costing Section Head will play a critical role in supporting management decision-making by providing detailed cost insights, improving cost efficiency, and ensuring alignment with corporate financial goals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Costing Management

  • Oversee and manage all product costing activities across the manufacturing operations (cables, wires, and related products).
  • Ensure accurate standard cost setting and periodic updates in coordination with production, procurement, and finance.
  • Analyze material, labor, and overhead costs, identifying variances and their root causes.
  • Maintain and enhance the cost accounting system to ensure data accuracy and reliability.

2. Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Support the budgeting process by providing detailed cost estimates and analysis.
  • Monitor actual vs. budget performance and recommend corrective actions.
  • Participate in quarterly and annual forecasting activities related to manufacturing costs.

3. Cost Control & Process Improvement

  • Develop and implement cost control initiatives to enhance profitability.
  • Review production efficiency and recommend cost-saving opportunities.
  • Drive process improvements in costing, reporting, and data management.

4. Financial Analysis & Reporting

  • Prepare detailed costing reports for management, including variance analysis and trend insights.
  • Collaborate with internal auditors and external auditors on cost-related matters.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal control requirements.

5. Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop the costing team to improve performance and technical expertise.
  • Foster collaboration between costing, finance, and production departments to ensure effective communication and alignment.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Industrial Engineering. (Master’s or CPA/CMA certification preferred.)
  • Experience: Minimum 8–12 years of relevant experience in cost accounting or manufacturing finance, preferably within the cable or industrial manufacturing sector.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, standard costing, and variance analysis.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial analysis tools.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

  • Accuracy of standard costing and variance analysis.
  • Timeliness and quality of cost reports.
  • Cost reduction initiatives implemented and savings achieved.
