RESPONSIBILITIES
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides leadership and senior level support for Decision Support & Analytics systems, as assigned.
- Serves as the lead System Administrator for the Activity Based Costing system, overseeing the development and implementation of processes and documentation, system reconciliations, and release upgrades.
- Proactively identifies and implements financial performance improvement opportunities from cost analysis and collaborates with clinical/physician leadership toward exploration/implementation of improvement initiatives.
- Provides technical expertise and guidance in formulation of procedures and best practice, setting priorities and technical direction.
- Supervises and directs work of staff, as assigned.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Essential: finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking, repetitive arm/hand motions.
- Continuous: sitting, frequent gripping of an object.
- Occasional: standing, walking, stooping/bending, lifting usual weight of 20 pounds up to 40 pounds; reaching above, at and below shoulder level, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods of time.
- Operates computer, calculator, copier, telephone.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
- Bachelor's degree in information systems/computer science, accounting or related field; or five (5) years progressively responsible experience in accounting, finance, information technology, health care or related field may be substituted for the education requirement.
- Master's degree preferred.
B. EXPERIENCE:
- In addition to the education requirement, three (3) years experience in healthcare operations with an understanding of activity drivers impacting costs; including a minimum of one (1) year in cost accounting.
- Two (2) years experience manipulating complex data sets, including multi-dimensional data sets.
- Prior supervisory/leadership experience.
- Experience to demonstrate:
o Advanced spreadsheet (Power Pivot) and SQL programming skills.
o Knowledge of relational databases and ability to extract data into reports, i.e., SQL, Crystal Report Writer.
o Ability to link data to workflows to produce relevant analytics
