Job Purpose:

The Sr. Developer (Business Intelligence and Database) at SAN FRANCISCO FEDERAL CREDIT UNION is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust business intelligence solutions and database systems. This role is crucial in transforming data into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making and optimize business processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement business intelligence solutions using industry-standard tools and technologies.
Design, build, and maintain efficient and reliable database systems to support business operations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze business requirements, translating them into technical specifications.
Create and manage data models, reports, and dashboards to provide insights and support business objectives.
Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity and security.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to business intelligence applications and database systems.
Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in business intelligence and database technologies.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and team members.
Participate in the planning and execution of data integration and migration projects.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices in data management.

Required Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.

Required Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in business intelligence and database development.
Proven experience with SQL, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
Demonstrated history of working with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
Experience in developing and optimizing complex database queries and stored procedures.
Previous experience in a financial services environment is a plus.

Required Skills and Abilities:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R is advantageous.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS or Azure is beneficial.
