SR DIRECTOR CLINICAL PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT - ANESTHESIA

The Senior Director of Clinical Performance Improvement is responsible for driving their specified Service Line’s clinical improvement efforts. They are responsible for clinical quality and safety measurement and will partner with internal resources on items related to data visualization and dashboarding, and Provider documentation. The Senior Director serves as a key liaison between the Service Line and the enterprise Safety/Risk/Claims department related to safety and clinical education.

  • Successful record of working in matrixed environment
  • Strong working knowledge of quality, safety and improvement principles
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Proven capacity to work across multidisciplinary teams to drive clinical outcomes
  • Demonstrated track record of effectively leading teams, coaching, building partnerships and effectively managing and resolving challenges.
  • Demonstrated success in content development and presentation

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
  • 12+ years of experience i n quality and safety.
  • 7+ years of experience leading teams across matrixed environment.

  • Is responsible for engaging in business partner support for the clinician-led Service Line Quality Committee.
  • Leads the design, development and implementation of the annual review of quality and safety measurement systems, including reporting and visualization.
  • Develops clear process and SOPs related to data collection and reporting.
  • Designs and implements the strategy for quality and safety measures to drive improvement across the Service Line.
  • Creates and carries out processes to disseminate clinical education to clinicals based on trends and topics in partnership with the Service Line’s Safety and Clinical Education leads.
  • Provides oversight and support to Documentation Education, monitoring KPIs for trends and opportunities for improvement, ensuring that clinicians are given documentation feedback.
  • Interfaces with Safety/Risk/Claims Department to promote culture of safety, support the Service Line’s occurrence and peer review processes, and identify trends requiring clinician education.
  • Other duties as assigned.
