Team Overview

As the Senior Director of IT Operations, you will report to the Senior Vice President of IT. You will provide vision and leadership to IT operations, including developing and maintaining industry-standard excellence for IT infrastructure and operations. The Senior Director of IT Operations is expected to direct the planning and implementation of enterprise IT systems to advance the mission of ADF, ensure effective IT provisioning, and lead a high-capacity and high-quality team. You are responsible for all aspects of the organization's information technology, processes, and systems, including service, change management, and operational methodologies that exceed industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with executive leadership to align technology initiatives with the organization's mission and strategic goals.
  • Lead IT Operations with a focus on long-term planning, resource provisioning, and staff leadership, ensuring IT systems evolve with technological advancements, economic changes, and organizational needs.
  • Oversee operational performance through monthly reviews, using metrics and data to drive timely decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Define, track, and manage objectives and key results (OKRs), implementing systems to monitor the health and performance of IT systems, staff, and processes.
  • Ensure effective IT service and change management, supporting both routine operations and transformational initiatives—from helpdesk support to infrastructure changes.
  • Collaborate regularly with executive leadership to report on IT challenges, opportunities, and strategic direction.
  • Partner with Cybersecurity to manage and enforce risk mitigation standards across all areas of information security, including system access, malware protection, data privacy, network controls, disaster recovery, and security awareness.
  • Work cross-functionally with peers in Product Management, Software Development, and Enterprise Applications to deliver cohesive and integrated IT solutions.
  • Lead operational management of IT services, ensuring timely equipment deployment, minimal downtime, and effective Service Desk performance.
  • Manage a structured process for identifying, logging, and resolving issues with business systems through timely, high-quality solutions.
  • Apply effective project management practices to define scope, set timelines, drive decision-making, and create accountability for outcomes.
  • Provide regular reporting to the SVP of IT, including project updates, service ticket metrics, and budget variance reports for CapEx and OpEx.
  • Foster a customer-centric IT culture supported by metrics, feedback, and continuous service improvement.
  • Support digital transformation efforts by collaborating with stakeholders to identify and implement innovative solutions that drive operational efficiency and organizational growth.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in information technology
  • 10+ years of experience leading information technology and/or leading technology teams.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, and organizational and analytical skills.
  • Deep knowledge of technology, systems, platforms, industry trends, security, networks, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and directing organizational change.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, operations research, or business administration, or equivalent experience.
