Job Description

The Senior Director of Regional Operational Sourcing leads the frontline procurement support organization that ensures dialysis centers nationwide have what they need—when they need it—to provide uninterrupted patient care. Reporting to the Group Vice President of Procurement, this role oversees the daily sourcing operations, purchase order processing, and supplier support functions that respond to urgent operational needs and unexpected challenges across the field network.

This leader’s team serves as the “first responders” for procurement-related issues—resolving supplier disruptions, urgent material shortages, and transactional bottlenecks quickly and effectively. The Senior Director ensures operational sourcing activities are efficient, reliable, and aligned with corporate sourcing strategies while maintaining exceptional service to field operations and clinical teams. They will also translate business needs into input for our sourcing teams.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Operational Sourcing & Field Support

  • Lead all regional sourcing operations supporting dialysis centers, ensuring timely resolution of procurement issues and supply needs.

  • Act as the escalation point for urgent sourcing challenges, product shortages, or vendor performance issues impacting clinic operations.

  • Partner with Supply Chain, Category Management, and Clinical Operations to troubleshoot and resolve field-level disruptions.

  • Oversee the Regional Category Sourcing Managers to ensure alignment between enterprise contracts and local purchasing needs.

  • Oversee our Supplier Quality program

Procurement Operations & PO Management

  • Direct the PO Placement team to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant processing of purchase orders.

  • Monitor procurement workflows to eliminate bottlenecks and ensure field requests are prioritized and fulfilled promptly.

  • Implement metrics and SLAs focused on responsiveness, accuracy, and service reliability.

  • Drive process improvements to accelerate turnaround times for urgent procurement requests.

Supplier & Vendor Support

  • Lead the Supplier Helpdesk, Vendor Setup, and Vendor Communications teams as the primary point of contact for supplier engagement and issue resolution.

  • Ensure effective onboarding, communication, and problem resolution between suppliers and internal stakeholders.

  • Partner with key suppliers to proactively identify and mitigate risks to clinic operations.

  • Develop communication protocols to quickly disseminate information on product substitutions, recalls, or availability changes.

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish a “rapid response” model and escalation pathways for addressing field sourcing emergencies.

  • Track performance metrics such as response time, issue resolution rate, and supplier turnaround.

  • Identify recurring issues and partner cross-functionally to develop long-term solutions that prevent recurrence.

  • Leverage technology and automation to enhance visibility and speed in resolving field support issues.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and mentor a team focused on agility, responsiveness, and service excellence.

  • Create a culture of problem-solving, accountability, and proactive communication.

  • Collaborate with peers across Procurement, Supply Chain, and Operations to share best practices and streamline support processes.

  • Foster professional development and cross-training to ensure continuity of support coverage.

Other duties as assigned

Education and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in procurement, sourcing operations, or field support; healthcare or dialysis experience strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, service-driven environment requiring rapid response and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to balance urgency, accuracy, and compliance.

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, especially with field operations and suppliers.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems, procurement platforms, and vendor management tools.

  • Proven track record of improving service delivery and operational efficiency.
