Sr Engineer / Engineer - Mechanical

Brief Description: We are seeking skilled and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer for our Design team. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of Mechanical Design along with practical experience in Railway sector

Responsibilities:

• Design product to match specifications; includes concept creation, detailed design, design calculations, manufacturing drawings, bill of materials and product related technical documents
• Establish design approach, estimate time for execution and schedule the activities.
• Interpret & use industry codes & standards relevant to product being designed.
• Review design specifications, test procedures, etc. created by other engineers.
• Review models, drawings & calculation reports created by other engineers.
• Handle the technical changes and new releases.
• Evaluate customer inquiries & specifications and study all inputs available for a product or design problem.
• Understand and comply to established engineering processes.
• Resolve technical queries raised by customers or third - party reviewers, assist design approval process.
• Contribute to improving existing engineering processes.
• Demonstrates high level of initiative to accomplish individual objectives assigned as well as team goals.
• Design or modify mechanical engineering layouts/schematics and/or detailed drawings/specifications.
• Preserve and improve design knowledge and experience.
• Prepare all manufacturing drawings along with appropriate GD & T, Material, & assembly drawing for shop release.
• Check accuracy of the work produced by self and others.
• Taking full accountability of own design drawings/models.

• 5-8 years, preferably in Railways Industry.
• Proficiency in skills required: AutoCAD, in depth knowledge of Solidworks Drawing + model of parts + assembly.
• Good knowledge of GD&T, ISO 9001 Quality Standards.
• Experience in Railways Industry – Drawing of railways Bogie Frame parts.
• Knowledge in creating tool and mould / die drawings.
• Preparing design process documents.
• Knowledge on APQP, Quality systems, DFMEA, DVP, etc.
• Excellent problem-solving techniques and Experience performing engineering calculations.
• Ability to perform individually on Microsoft office tools.
