This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at Towne Centre Drive (San Diego, CA) and remote.

Our facilities include two university hospitals, a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center (Moores Cancer Center), Shiley Eye Institute, Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center, the only Burn Center in the county, and dozens of outpatient clinics.
This position works within the IS Epic Ambulatory Specialties team supporting Epic Beacon and Research applications, with a primary focus on building oncology research clinical protocols in partnership with the Moores Cancer Center Clinical Trials Office. The analyst will work closely with clinical leaders, oncologists, research nurses, and clinical trials staff to translate research protocol requirements into fully functional Epic Beacon builds.
This position operates on a hybrid schedule, combining remote and onsite work, and participates in an after-hours on-call support rotation. The position reports to the IS Epic Ambulatory Specialties Manager and maintains a dotted-line relationship with the Moores Cancer Center Clinical Trials Office Senior Director.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Nine (9) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in a related area plus five (5) years of relevant experience/training.
Broadly encompassing or highly in-depth knowledge of 1–2 areas of focus in clinical applications, including planning, design, development, implementation, user support, training, maintenance, quality assurance, and system testing.
Advanced ability to apply problem-resolution skills to highly complex issues; quickly diagnose problems and develop, test, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
Advanced interpersonal communication skills to effectively train, support, and work in collaboration with clinical users, research staff, and key stakeholders at all professional and technical levels.
Advanced organizational and project management skills; ability to lead a team, prioritize tasks, and see projects through from inception to completion on schedule.
Advanced written and verbal communication skills to convey highly technical information to all levels of clinical and research staff in a specific, clear, and concise manner.
Advanced analytical skills and expertise in documentation and reporting, with the ability to apply metrics, plan and implement testing systems, collect and analyze performance data, and produce substantive reports for management.
Advanced ability to serve as a technical leader and information resource, in collaboration with key personnel and management systems, improvements, upgrades, and industry advances and trends.
Epic Beacon Certification.

Epic Ambulatory Certification.
Demonstrated experience in Epic Beacon build and configuration, including oncology treatment plan and protocol build at all levels of complexity.
Demonstrated experience and proven success in information systems implementation, development, and support within a large-scale healthcare organization.
Experience in oncology research protocol build, clinical trials management workflows, or NCI-designated cancer center operations.
In-depth knowledge of Epic Research module functionality and integration with Epic Beacon.
Experience as a major participant in a clinical system implementation.
Familiarity with FDA, GCP, IND/IDE regulations and how they intersect with EHR build and clinical trial documentation.
In-depth knowledge of medical group or hospital oncology operations and workflow experience.
Participates in an after-hours on-call support rotation.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
