Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team of professionals as a Field Service Engineer (FSE) on the Advanced Communication Solutions Team (ACST). This full-time position will support the ACST Program Manager overseeing the development and review of communications system technical documentation, oversight of component and system level acceptance testing, and interface with Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to develop and review technical documentation such as cabinet and wiring drawings and bills of material (BOM). The candidate will review engineering and logistics documentation and drawings, and assure tasks remain on schedule and within budget. Additionally, this position will support assisting in the planning and managing of US Navy and US Coast Guard communication system upgrades, technical assists, and shipboard acceptance tests both in the US and abroad.
The position involves direct interface with government customers. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.
Candidate must have a basic understanding of shipboard communications documentation with the ability to understand shipboard and shore wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and schematics.
Although this is a full time, on-site role, the candidate will occasionally be required to support limited shipboard or shore site system inspections to facilitate drawing development or planned upgrades. Estimated 10 percent travel is anticipated within the continental US.
This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.
There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering, Technical, Business, Computer Science or IT discipline and at least 4 years of related experience OR High school diploma and at least 10 years of related experience
- Experience with radio communication systems

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work well in a team environment or independently.

Shipboard Electronics or Radio Frequency (RF) troubleshooting abilities and experience
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $97008 - $164914
