Key Responsibilities:

  • Fire Prevention Systems Management:
  • Oversee the maintenance, inspection, and testing of all fire prevention systems and equipment, including fire alarms, sprinkler systems, fire extinguishers, fire doors, smoke detectors, and fire suppression systems (e.g., CO2, FM200).
  • Ensure that fire safety systems are fully operational at all times and compliant with local and international fire safety regulations (e.g., NFPA, local fire codes).
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules for fire safety equipment to ensure compliance with inspection and testing requirements.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and resolve any issues with fire prevention systems, ensuring minimal downtime and quick resolution of problems.
  • Supervision & Team Leadership:
  • Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of fire safety technicians or maintenance staff, ensuring high performance and adherence to fire safety procedures.
  • Develop work schedules, monitor attendance, and ensure proper shift coverage for the fire prevention team.
  • Conduct training and skill development programs for fire safety technicians on the latest technologies, safety regulations, and emergency response procedures.
  • Fire Safety Compliance & Audits:
  • Ensure that all fire prevention systems meet compliance with local, national, and international fire safety standards and regulations.
  • Conduct regular fire safety audits and inspections across the facility to identify potential risks and ensure that corrective actions are taken in a timely manner.
  • Prepare for and support inspections by local authorities or fire safety auditors, ensuring all records and documentation are up to date and compliant.
  • Emergency Response Planning & Drills:
  • Develop and update fire emergency plans, evacuation procedures, and fire drill schedules.
  • Coordinate and conduct regular fire drills to ensure that staff are aware of fire safety procedures and that evacuation plans are effective.
  • Ensure fire safety systems are tested as part of emergency response drills, including the functioning of alarms, exits, and extinguishers.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Maintain detailed records of fire safety system inspections, maintenance, repairs, and tests, ensuring that all activities are documented as per legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on fire prevention system performance, including any maintenance activities, issues, or upgrades, to management.
  • Report any incidents or deficiencies in fire prevention systems immediately to senior management, and propose solutions for corrective actions.
  • Vendor & Contractor Management:
  • Manage relationships with third-party contractors and vendors providing fire safety services or equipment (e.g., alarm testing, sprinkler systems, extinguisher maintenance).
  • Ensure that all external service providers are fully compliant with safety regulations and fire protection standards.
  • Oversee the procurement and installation of new fire prevention equipment and ensure it is integrated correctly into the facility's existing systems.
  • Budgeting & Cost Control:
  • Develop and manage budgets for fire safety systems maintenance, equipment procurement, and training.
  • Monitor expenses related to fire prevention systems and maintenance services, ensuring that all activities are within budget.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high levels of fire safety.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
  • Additional certifications in fire safety or fire prevention systems (e.g., NFPA certifications, Fire Alarm Systems certification) are a plus.
  • Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in fire prevention or fire safety system maintenance, with at least 2-3 years in a senior or supervisory role.
  • Experience working with a variety of fire prevention systems such as fire alarms, sprinklers, suppression systems, and fire extinguishers.
  • Experience with compliance to fire safety regulations, risk assessments, and fire safety audits.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of fire safety systems, equipment, and technologies.
  • Deep understanding of local, national, and international fire safety codes and regulations (e.g., NFPA, local fire codes, OSHA).
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to supervise and motivate staff.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot fire safety systems and identify solutions quickly.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to prepare reports, communicate with contractors, and interact with senior management.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with a focus on ensuring safety and compliance.
  • Proficiency in fire safety management software or building management systems (BMS) is a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
