Sr. Fire Pump Technician

Duties & Responsibilities

• Install, align, and connect fire pumps, controllers, and associated piping and wiring.
• Assist in commissioning and start-up of new fire pump systems in compliance with NFPA, Civil Defence, and manufacturer standards.
• Conduct weekly, monthly, and annual testing of fire pumps (electric/diesel driven).
• Record test results including pressure, flow, RPM, and alarm signals.
• Verify automatic and manual start/stop functions during routine checks.
• Carry out preventive maintenance on fire pumps, controllers, jockey pumps, valves, and related components.
• Inspect pump packing, bearings, seals, and lubricate as required.
• Check suction/discharge pressures, alignment, and vibration levels.
• Ensure fuel systems, batteries, and cooling systems (for diesel pumps) are in proper working condition.
• Perform complete overhauling of fire pumps and diesel engines, including dismantling, cleaning, inspection, and replacement of worn-out parts.
• Reassemble and align pumps to restore factory-level performance.
• Conduct post-overhaul performance testing to ensure compliance with NFPA and Civil Defence standards.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults in fire pumps and controllers.
• Carry out repairs and maintenance of fire pump control panels, including starters, relays, contactors, circuit breakers, and wiring.
• Replace defective parts such as impellers, bearings, seals, batteries, gauges, and pressure switches.
• Reset alarms and restore system to full operational status after maintenance/repairs.
• Report immediately any system deficiencies, leaks, or non-compliance issues.
• Maintain accurate service logs, test reports, and maintenance records.
• Submit reports on inspection findings and recommendations for corrective actions.
• Assist in preparing compliance documents for Civil Defence inspections.
• Support firefighting system maintenance team in troubleshooting related systems (sprinkler, hydrant, hose reel).
• Train junior technicians on standard fire pump maintenance, overhauling, panel repair, and safety procedures.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED2,500.00 - AED3,500.00 per month

Experience:

• Fire Pump Technician: 5 years (Preferred)
