Job Summary:

The Sr. Generator Service Engineer is responsible for installation, maintenance, and repairs for diesel/gas generators and associated control panels (PCC/Synch Panels) onsite or in workshops. Diagnose mechanical/Electrical issues, perform load testing, and ensure compliance with safety standards. The role will also provide technical support and manage warranty claims.

1. Advanced Troubleshooting & Repairs

  • Diagnose and resolve complex faults in diesel generators (electrical & mechanical).
  • Perform major repairs including engine overhauls, alternator servicing, and control system faults.
  • Handle critical breakdowns independently with minimal supervision.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions.

2. Installation, Testing & Commissioning

  • Lead installation and commissioning of DG sets and synchronization systems.
  • Perform load bank testing and system performance validation.
  • Configure and troubleshoot:
  • AMF Panels
  • Synchronizing Panels
  • ATS Systems
  • Ensure compliance with OEM and project specifications.

3. Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) Management

  • Execute, manage, and supervise all AMC activities for assigned clients.
  • Plan and schedule preventive maintenance visits (monthly/quarterly/annual) as per contract.
  • Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) including response time and uptime.
  • Maintain detailed AMC service records, reports, and checklists.
  • Monitor generator performance under AMC and proactively recommend corrective actions.
  • Support AMC renewals, upgrades, and new contract acquisition through technical input.
  • Build strong relationships with AMC clients to ensure contract retention and satisfaction.

4. Revenue Generation & Business Development

  • Identify and convert opportunities for chargeable repairs, servicing, and spare parts replacement.
  • Actively promote and secure AMC contracts, renewals, and upgrades.
  • Recommend value-added services to clients (load testing, system upgrades, etc.).
  • Support the sales team with technical assessments and proposals.
  • Contribute to achieving service revenue targets set by management.
  • Upsell spare parts, consumables, and maintenance packages during service visits.

5. Preventive Maintenance Management

  • Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Supervise technicians during PM activities.
  • Ensure proper documentation and service reporting.
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend preventive measures.

6. Team Leadership (Must-Have Competency)

  • Lead, supervise, and manage a team of technicians and junior engineers.
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure timely job completion.
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance and on-site decision-making.
  • Train and mentor team members to improve technical skills and productivity.
  • Enforce discipline, safety, and quality standards within the team.
  • Manage multiple teams/sites when required.

7. Customer & Site Coordination

  • Act as the technical point of contact for clients.
  • Handle escalations and critical service issues professionally.
  • Provide technical advice and operational support to customers.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (spare parts, logistics, sales).

8. Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare detailed service reports, failure analysis reports, and job completion records.
  • Maintain service history and maintenance logs.
  • Submit timely and accurate documentation to management.

9. Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce strict adherence to HSE policies on-site.
  • Ensure safe working practices during maintenance and repairs.
  • Comply with UAE safety regulations and company standards.

Qualifications:

  • Masters/Bachelor's in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electromechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5–8 years in diesel generator service, preferably with OEM certification in Cummins or Perkins.
  • Strong understanding of diesel engines, alternators, and synchronization systems.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Diesel Engines (Cummins, Perkins, Kubota, FPT), Alternators (Stamford, Leroy Somer, Mecc Alte) and Deep sea controllers
  • Strong knowledge in Electrical troubleshooting and wiring diagrams, synchronization and load sharing systems and generator protection systems
  • Must have hands on experience in load bank testing and performance analysis, engine parameter diagnostics
  • Must have knowledge of ERP systems or warranty management software.
  • Must have UAE Valid Driving license
  • Must be Arabic speaking and fluent in English Language
