Description
WC & Safety, Sr. HR Business Partner is responsible for the organization’s workers’ compensation day to day tasks and assisting with company safety programs. Assists with corporate safety and health program initiatives and objectives and assists with monitoring workers’ compensation, safety, and health regulations. Provides technical support to PDC and corporate personnel to ensure compliance with federal and state WC, safety, and health regulations. This position requires that incumbent must also exhibit ethical behavior as stewards of the organization. Travel may be required.
- Administers Company Workers’ Compensation claims from report to resolution ensuring compliance with states/ federal laws and company policies. Act as a liaison between injured employees, location management, medical providers, and insurers to facilitate treatment and prompt return-to-work. Act as the main point of contact for location personnel, insurance carrier, and legal teams to ensure timely communication and reporting. (25%)

Reviews injury/illness and non-injury incident investigation reports and follows up as necessary for compliance. Provides additional training as necessary. (20%)

Maintains OSHA 300 logs, 301 Forms, and ensures relevant documentation is maintained. Files required state and federal documentation, and adheres to legal regulations by state (15%).

Analyze claims data to identify trends, develop injury prevention strategies and training, and audit claims to ensure adequate handling and risk mitigation. (10%)

Assist in administering Company Safety training, Safety and health Program, Safety Rewards program, and reinforce IIPP at Corporate level. Contributes to develop Company-wide safety Training Programs and Standards; (20%)
- Facilitates compliance and regulatory matters such as: Safety & WC Audits, OSHA compliance mandatory training, Reporting and responding to external agencies. (10%)
- Assist in reviewing and updating written OSHA compliance programs

Work with locations to track identified issues through the facility inspection process.

Monitor and facilitate reasonable suspicion process.

Work with all locations to maintain and keep current the Division OSHA 300 log, OSHA 301 Forms.

Ensure timely completion of yearly OSHA 300 and 300A Forms for all locations and compliance reporting to OSHA’s ITA.

Work with all locations to ensure proper maintenance of accident and injury files.

Monitor tracking system for accidents/injuries.

Assist with monthly employee safety meetings/Serves as member of all corporate safety committees

Assist in managing Company Safety Rewards Program

Coordinate information with worker’s comp adjusters to ensure prompt case management.

Provide quarterly results and statistics to stakeholders

Benchmark best/most effective safety processes/procedures/programs to improve safety program.

Assist with location safety audits, make recommendations for improvement and ensure improvements are implemented.

Training of facility managers, supervisors, and Safety specialists in safety related topics and workers’ compensation.
- Initial and ongoing training for all HR Field business partners on safety, workers’ compensation, EHS system

Work with HR Field business partners as necessary on safety & WC investigations and safety improvement

Work with Safety specialists to ensure adequate support to all locations and compliance is maintained.

Provide coaching and consulting as necessary to Managers, Supervisors, HR Field BPs, and Safety Lean specialists

Workers’ Compensation Administration – manage process with WC Insurance provider and within the organization

Work with WC carrier, broker, and Loss control to identify gaps in company safety and health programs and policies
-
Handle yearly renewals for workers’ compensation, crime, and EPL insurance

Handle Foreign Liability Insurance renewal

Handle Yearly Workers’ Compensation Audits

Handle Workers’ Compensation compliance reporting as necessary as required by state
-
Participates in new product/process reviews, including job hazard analysis, operator training, etc.

Supports PDC personnel in selection of appropriate personal protective equipment.

Maintain corporate safety library (videos, regulations, reference manuals, training) and ensures proper maintenance in our EHS System.

Assist with developing safety training as necessary due to operational changes or governmental updates

Maintain on-going communication of safety program and preparation of reports

Advises PDC’s/ Corporate staff of regulatory changes with which the PDC/Corp. team must comply. Sufficient advance notice should be provided so that compliance on the effective date of new regulations is ensured.

Be proactive in looking for ways to reduce injuries and WC costs. Work with Workers’ Compensation brokers to maximize service

Ensure that safety meeting minutes are being collected from all locations, reviewed, and ensure continuous improvement. Oversee that weekly Safety team meeting minutes are being maintained.

Assist in maintaining and updating Company Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) as necessary.

Assist with reporting to Korea HQ, MPA report, loss-time injuries/illnesses

Facilitate corporate training programs, such as Safety, IIPP and Emergency & Evacuation Plans.

No major errors during the review period.

Keep manager informed of any issues on a timely basis.
Required Qualifications
- 6-8 years progressive experience in HR as Generalist or Employee Relations and Workers’ Compensation, safety
- Experience in job analysis, Workers Comp & Safety, Employee Relations and HR consulting

Administration of multi-state programs for exempt and non-exempt employees
-
Experience with achieving results while working with locations in various states
-
Experience working in an office setting at a corporate level as well as field setting
-
Experience with international knowledge desired.
Certifications
