Key Responsibilities
HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle

Manage end-to-end HR operations, including onboarding, offboarding, employee changes, and HR documentation.

Lead structured onboarding processes for new hires in a fast-paced technical environment.

Maintain accurate employee records and ensure HR data integrity across systems.

Serve as the primary administrator and power user for Gusto HRIS/payroll systems.
Payroll & Benefits Administration

Process payroll accurately and on time, including audits, reconciliations, and reporting.

Administer employee benefits programs, leave management, and open enrollment processes.
Compliance & Employee Relations

Ensure compliance with Federal, California, and local employment laws and regulations.

Maintain and update HR policies, employee handbooks, and internal procedures.

Support employee relations matters, including performance concerns, leaves of absence, accommodations, and terminations.

Assist in maintaining compliant HR practices related to wage and hour laws, recordkeeping, and workplace policies.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

5+ years of progressive HR operations/generalist experience, preferably in a startup or high-growth environment.

Strong knowledge of California employment laws and HR compliance requirements.

Hands-on experience with Gusto HRIS/payroll system required.

Experience managing payroll, benefits administration, onboarding, and employee lifecycle processes.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
