Sr IT Administrator

Effectively and efficiently manage the Information Systems of the Monument Chemical Kentucky site.

Essential Functions
  • Reports To: Information Technology Director
  • Manage all activities related to the planning, implementation, operational support and site management of the hardware and software required to provide desktop, local area network, telecommunications, and related services to all Information Technology customers.
  • Ensure timely installation of requested/required hardware; including routers, switches, printers, etc.
  • Oversee and manage all IT infrastructure related activities of the location.
  • Applying fiscal responsibility work within established budgets managing hardware expenses. Manage, audit, and approve any recurring IT expenses
  • Participate with customer organizations, other IT departments, functional areas and external entities to plan, develop and implement strategic and tactical objectives.
  • Oversees local area network performance and capacity to ensure optimum levels of efficiency, reliability, and connectivity.
  • Design, develop, and implement appropriate policies, procedures and standards relating to the IT infrastructure and ensure compliance accordingly.
  • Revise policies, procedures as required by changing, evolving, and expanding business conditions.
  • Level I/II user support from help desk tickets.
  • PC setup and imaging. Troubleshooting PC hardware/software issues.
  • Document and resolve client system problems.
  • Communicate with internal customers to ensure systems and equipment are functional.
  • Install, configure and upgrade software.
  • Preventive maintenance of hardware and software.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware issues on laptops, desktops, printers and other office equipment. Basic networking.
  • Be on-call and provide occasional support during nights and weekends.
  • SAP subject matter expert for Brandenburg site.
  • Act as a technical liaison between 3rd party SAP support group & local SAP users.
  • Other tasks and projects as assigned.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company’s core values, competencies, and skills.

Education Qualifications
  • Required Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or Computer Science or related field required.

Experience Qualifications
  • Required 5+ years experience with hardware and software installation and maintenance in a PC/LAN-WAN environment.

Skills and Abilities
  • Extensive working knowledge of PC’s, network hardware, operating systems, and software (including file server, gateways, workstation, printers, routers, hard disk drives, UPS devices, patch panels, and network communication protocols including TCP/IP.
  • Experience involving diagnosing and resolving complex communication problems within an organization/enterprise.
  • Good organizational, time management, leadership, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot technology related issues.
  • SAP and SAP security experience.
  • Microsoft certifications preferred.
  • Help desk experience a plus.
  • Computer network experience a plus.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and current Windows Server technology.
  • Knowledge of network printing setup and configurations.
  • Ability to manage time and complete tasks within deadlines.
  • Ability to work within a matrix organizational structure.

Licenses and Certifications
  • CompTIA A+ Certification - Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) (CompTIA) Upon Hire Preferred and
  • MCP Certification Upon Hire Preferred

Working Conditions/Physical Demands
  • Work in chemical plant work environment; occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs., ability to access electronic switches and computer cabling, as well as work in office environment.
  • Occasional remote work.
