Job Purpose:
To provide strategic leadership for contract management by setting contract governance standards, shaping commercial risk strategies, enabling robust negotiation outcomes and leading cross-functional alignment on complex contractual matters at organisational level.
Key Responsibilities:

Drive high-value and complex contract negotiations including terms for strategic suppliers, major contractors, framework agreements and global partners.

Lead the development and implementation of contract strategy and policies that support business objectives while mitigating legal and commercial risks.

Provide senior-level advisory support on contractual positions, risk allocation, warranties, indemnities, dispute resolution and performance obligations.

Establish and enforce robust governance frameworks, approval authorities and contract controls to ensure consistency and compliance.

Lead contract risk assessments, develop mitigation plans and ensure visibility of contractual exposure to project and corporate leadership.

Partner with Legal, Procurement, Finance, Treasury, Projects and Operations leadership to align contract strategy with broader business, financial and legal objectives.

Oversee contract dispute resolution, guide in negotiation of claims/ counter claims and lead resolution strategy for high-impact issues.

Drive process excellence through standardisation, automation, analytic reporting and best practices for contract lifecycle management.

Provide leadership in handling regulatory, statutory and audit inquiries related to contract compliance and risk.

Lead and develop a high-performing contract management team, including recruitment, coaching, succession planning and capability building.

Represent contract management perspectives in leadership forums, steering committees and cross-functional governance bodies.
Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Masters or PG in Management or related field; advanced professional certification in contracts, commercial law or procurement preferred.

For Sr. Lead - 15-19 years for BE Engineering / 15-17 years in case of BE + MBA
-
of progressive experience in contract management leadership, including complex negotiations, governance and risk strategy.

Strong work ethic, deep expertise in contract law, risk allocation, performance management and claims & dispute resolution.

Proven track record of leading cross-functional negotiations and influencing outcomes at senior levels.

Strong strategic thinking, judgment and ability to balance commercial objectives with risk mitigation.

Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management and mentoring skills. Experience implementing contract management systems and leading contract governance transformation.
