Professional Qualification

10+ yrs experience working on projects within Investments and/or Asset Management Investments - with particular exposure with Portfolio Management and/or Trade execution domains.

Strong communication with ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms to diverse audiences.

The Sr. Lead will partner closely with Portfolio Managers, Traders, and Front Office Technology teams to deliver high‑impact solutions across portfolio management, and ETF Technology. This role acts as a critical liaison between investment stakeholders and Agile engineering teams, translating complex investment workflows into clear, actionable business and functional requirements.

Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, collaboration with quants, Portfolio Managers, and business stakeholders.

Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence strategic decisions.
Agile Delivery & Execution

Partner with Agile teams to drive delivery through backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives.

Author and maintain user stories, UAT scenarios, release notes, and supporting documentation. Coordinate and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business users and technology partners.

Act as a single point of contact between business and technology, ensuring alignment on scope, priorities, and outcomes.

Clearly communicate trade‑offs, risks, and dependencies to senior investment and technology stakeholders.

Partner closely with partners and contractors in offshore to deliver solutions and improve productivity using AI tools like Github Copilot.
Data Engineering & Management

Design and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models for performance and scalability.

Integrate data pipelines and ETL processes using Python and Azure Data Factory or similar tools.

Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications.

Plan and own Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, retrospectives, daily stand-ups) and contribute to backlog grooming and story estimation.
Domain Knowledge (Preferred)

Understanding of Asset Management Investments asset classes (equities, fixed income, alternatives), portfolio theory, and investment constraints.

Experience with Aladdin Enterprise/Charles River (CRD), Bloomberg AIM or other Portfolio and Order Management, integrating Aladdin SaaS to develop Investment tools and processes.

Experience with solutioning and integrating with Axioma portfolio optimizer

Experience with financial data providers (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet, MSCI) and APIs.

Salary Range:
$114,500 - 194,700 USD
Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
