Sr. Manager Finance & Compliance

Role Overview

The Senior Manager – Financial Compliances will be responsible for ensuring strong financial governance, statutory compliance, donor compliance, and audit readiness across BharatCares’ programs. The role requires deep understanding of NGO financial regulations, CSR compliance, and robust coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Financial Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable statutory requirements including Income Tax, GST, FCRA (if applicable), CSR regulations, and other NGO-related laws.
  • Develop, implement, and strengthen financial control systems, SOPs, and compliance frameworks.
  • Ensure timely filings, returns, and regulatory submissions.

Audit & Reporting

  • Lead and manage internal, statutory, donor, and CSR audits, including audit planning, coordination, and closure of observations.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, schedules, and audit documentation.
  • Coordinate with auditors, consultants, and regulatory authorities.

Donor & CSR Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to donor-specific financial guidelines, utilization certificates, fund tracking, and reporting requirements.
  • Review and validate budgets, fund utilization reports, and financial MIS for CSR and donor-funded projects.
  • Support program teams on compliance requirements during project implementation.

Budgeting & Financial Oversight

  • Review and monitor organizational and project-level budgets, variance analysis, and cost controls.
  • Support leadership in financial planning, forecasting, and risk assessment.
  • Ensure proper fund allocation, tracking, and timely utilization.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Work closely with program, finance, accounts, HR, and compliance teams to ensure financial discipline across functions.
  • Act as a key point of contact for donors, corporates, auditors, and regulatory bodies on financial matters.

Team & Process Management

  • Guide and mentor junior finance and accounts team members.
  • Support capacity building of internal teams on financial compliance and documentation standards.
  • Drive continuous process improvements and digitization of finance workflows.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of NGO accounting, CSR compliance, and statutory regulations
  • Hands-on experience in audits, donor compliance, and financial reporting
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and tight timelines
  • High integrity and attention to detail

Preferred Profile

  • Chartered Accountant with prior experience in NGO / CSR / social sector organizations
  • Experience working with multiple donor-funded projects
  • Exposure to internal controls, risk management, and governance frameworks

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹65,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
