Job Title: Senior Manager – Legal (Criminal, Civil, Litigation & Compliance)

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager – Legal to handle criminal and civil matters, manage litigation across forums, and ensure statutory and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong courtroom exposure, excellent drafting skills, and the ability to work closely with law-enforcement agencies, external counsel, and internal stakeholders.
1. Criminal Legal Matters
- Lead and advise on all criminal litigation cases involving the company.
- Draft and review complaints, responses, affidavits, notices, and other criminal law documents.
- Represent the company before police authorities, investigation officers, and statutory bodies.
- Support internal teams during investigations, raids, seizures, or regulatory inquiries.
- Coordinate with external law firms/counsels for criminal case strategy and execution.
- Ensure proper documentation and evidence management for all criminal cases.
2. Civil & General Litigation
- Manage and oversee all civil disputes and litigation before various courts, tribunals, and authorities.
- Draft and vet pleadings, written statements, rejoinders, legal notices, and civil case documentation.
- Handle matters related to contracts, recoveries, property disputes, injunctions, arbitration, and commercial litigation.
- Strategize legal positions, prepare case briefs, and manage external counsel for civil and commercial matters.
- Ensure effective follow-up of all cases to safeguard the organization’s interests.
- Maintain litigation MIS and ensure timely reporting of case progress to leadership.
3. Compliance & Regulatory
- Oversee end-to-end compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements applicable to the business.
- Develop, implement, and monitor compliance policies, SOPs, and internal controls.
- Conduct periodic compliance audits and organizational risk assessments.
- Support internal investigations related to fraud, misconduct, or policy violations.
- Ensure timely filings, regulatory updates, and adherence to legal frameworks across departments.
4. Advisory & Risk Management
- Provide legal advisory to senior management on risk exposure, litigation impact, and legal implications.
- Review internal processes and contracts to reduce legal and operational risks.
- Advise on data protection, anti-bribery provisions, POSH, and ethical governance frameworks.
- Conduct awareness programs and trainings for employees on legal risks and compliance protocols.
5. Government & Stakeholder Management
- Interface with law-enforcement agencies, regulatory bodies, and government authorities.
- Manage relationships with external counsels, auditors, and compliance partners.
- Communicate litigation updates, risks, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
Skills & CompetenciesTechnical Skills
- Strong expertise in criminal law, civil law, and general litigation management.
- Thorough understanding of commercial laws, company law, labor law, IT Act, and regulatory frameworks.
- Skilled in legal drafting, negotiation, and courtroom strategy.
- Experience managing compliance programs and internal investigations.
