THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE:

The Sr. Manager, Supply Chain Operations Inbound will work closely with the Director of Supply Chain Operations to provide strategic direction and leadership across all aspects of Supply Chain activities while ensuring Ulta Beauty’s enterprise goals and objectives are met. The Sr. Manager will provide operational leadership with a focus on operational excellence of both Inbound and Outbound processes to our RDCs, FFCs, MFCs and 1,200+ stores. Strong cross-functional collaboration is critical when partnering with Merchandising, Merchandise Planning, DC & Store Operations, Finance, Loss Prevention, and our Stores.

The Sr. Manager, Supply Chain Operations will set the strategy for distribution field-based leadership, lead the deployment of new capabilities within the Ulta Supply Chain, and deploy best practices of all Inbound and Outbound operations. Additionally, this leader will govern processes related to new automation including a WES, AMRs, and other automated technology to drive end-to-end optimization within the Supply Chain network. This role will work closely with internal stakeholders and enterprise leaders (Managers, Directors, and VPs) to optimize product flow across our distribution centers and will be responsible for leading the implementation of any changes. The Sr. Manager, Supply Chain Operations will provide direct guidance and leadership to both their direct reports as well as steady state distribution teams and corporate strategic Logistics teams. The scope of this role includes communicating to and developing strategic partnerships with several cross functional relationships within ULTA such as Inventory, Merchandising, Information Technology, Finance, and additional teams from Supply Chain to ensure that the distribution operations are effectively functioning throughout the network.

YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY:

  • Lead a team to develop and implement detailed best practices and processes to support Best in Class vision of future Distribution activities.
  • Lead strategic initiatives with enterprise leaders (Managers, Directors, VPs) to define and plan various business applications such as: enterprise strategic initiatives, product flow optimization, best practice process improvement, transitional product strategies, process automation, and business continuation
  • Collaborate with leaders (Supervisors, Managers, Directors, VPs) cross functionally to influence and drive targeted supply chain improvements. Lead initiatives associated with new stores, new DC logistics network development and other strategic efforts.
  • Lead and direct for the portfolio of projects within the strategic initiatives the individual is assigned
  • Develop and train process implementation and documentation support for all distribution/supply chain-related projects which includes: supporting and or creating project plans and timelines, setting up and executing onsite & offsite project investigation, and providing status reporting
  • Collaborate with enterprise leadership (Manager, Director, VPs) on: Inventory Management/Planning, Merchandising, and Industrial Engineering to create weekly status reporting, and prevent resource conflicts between multiple projects
  • Develop cost analysis, design considerations, and implementation timelines for projects
  • Provide Distribution Leadership operational support including day-to-day support, operational and leadership training, and capacity planning
  • Work as a liaison among stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements for changes to distribution operations or product flow
  • Create and manage the implementation of any changes through effective stakeholder and change management.
  • Deliver and govern performance KPIs and Reporting for RDCs, FFCs, and MFCs
  • Lead and identify common issues, constraints and risks across portfolio projects through the application of lean principles
  • Plan and manage project execution, ensuring that development projects are delivered on time, on budget, and consistent with specifications
  • Support enterprise leaders through multiple projects across multiple sites, assign work, monitor workload, and appraise performances
  • Manage, measure, monitor, and mitigate risks to various projects, budgets, and timelines
  • Collect and report metrics to monitor and optimize project performance by leading weekly distribution leadership meetings
  • Provide the enterprise detailed guidance & leadership communication in the event of distribution center outages along with contingency plans
  • Manage all project administrative activities, training, documentation, and communications of multiple simultaneous projects, including projects impacting other functional areas of the business, within the corporate office as well as our Distribution Centers
  • Mentor, teach & develop enterprise leaders to improve their understanding and skill, and ensure they are familiar with policies, business processes, and workflow
  • Coach, counsel, develop and motivate team to successfully achieve department objectives.
  • Continually evolve the team through introduction and deployment of industry leading practices

THE ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 8-10 years supply chain experience with a focus on operations and team leadership. Retail supply chain experience a plus.
  • Strong supply chain background with leadership roles across supply chain disciplines (preferably field and corporate).
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to successfully develop and execute against departmental goals with minimal guidance.
  • Creative problem solver with the ability to manage and drive accountability across the supply chain.
  • Demonstrated success in developing talent, managing performance and building high performing teams.
  • Strategic thought leader able to build robust plans and execute with speed, while communicating clear priorities.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across functions and influence decisions related Supply Chain Operations
  • Ability to speak, work with, and present to large and diverse audiences
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to successfully lead in a fast-paced, growing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex business situations and problems, coordinate many complex activities/projects simultaneously and direct successful solutions.
  • Strong working knowledge in SAP, Manhattan WMS, MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Project PowerPoint), and Tableau or other visualization solutions is a plus
  • Good understanding of warehousing and physical distribution concepts.
  • Ability to work long hours and weekends as dictated by business needs.
  • Ability to travel as required

: The pay range for this position is $119,300.00 - $161,200.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life and disability benefits. Part-time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
