About the Role
As a Senior Mechanical Buyer, you will be responsible for the strategic sourcing and procurement of mechanical components and assemblies used in electronic products. You will play a key role in supplier negotiations, cost optimization, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality materials to support production and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for mechanical components aligned with Kitron’s operational goals.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure optimal pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to understand technical requirements and ensure supplier compliance.
- Manage supplier relationships and performance, including audits and corrective actions.
- Find and develop new mechanical suppliers to better align with Kitron’s needs.
- Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and innovation.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards in procurement activities.
- Support new product development initiatives by sourcing prototype and production-ready mechanical parts.
- Lead cost-reduction initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement projects.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical procurement within the electronics or manufacturing industry.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of mechanical manufacturing processes and quality standards.
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, international environment.
Preferred Certifications
- Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
- Climate-controlled office setting with occasional electronics manufacturing services production floor.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods and lift up to 10lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
