Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr. Principal Process Engineer. This position will be located at our Defense Systems Sector in Rocket Center, WV. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Missile Products team within the Weapon Systems Division.
Specific responsibilities include:
Coordinates with Design Engineering on product design and manufacturability issues.
Coordinates manufacturing support with operations to meet quality, delivery, and cost requirements. Assists in the resolution of processing issues.
Evaluates discrepant hardware. Perform cause and corrective action activities to eliminate defects.
Research/evaluate tools and equipment to support manufacturing processes. Analyze processes and equipment for process capabilities and causes of downtime.
Troubleshoot existing processes to improve safety, quality, cost, and efficiency. Conduct continuous improvement activities.
Incorporates engineering changes to work in process.
Create, maintain, and improve assembly instructions.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electro-mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering (or other relevant STEM degree) and 8 years of relevant experience, 6 years relevant experience with a Masters, or 4 years relevant experience with a PhD.
Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance for which U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with electrical or electromechanical system assembly.
Experience with automated manufacturing.
Laser welding experience.
Experience in production environment
Experience in Surface Mount Technology Circuit Card Assembly
Experience or coursework using SPC and Six Sigma techniques.
This position falls under a Federal Explosives License issued by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for this location. Candidates hired into this role will be required to complete and submit an Employee Possessor Questionnaire to ATF for approval to be a possessor.
Primary Level Salary Range: $111,700.00 - $167,500.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
