RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
Foreign & Local Procurement:
- Source and procure spare parts, tools, and equipment from international and local markets (e.g., OEM, MRO, tools, and equipment).
- Manage customs clearance and all related activities for imported shipments.
- Ensure compliance with international importation regulations and oversee INCO terms for shipments.
Supplier Management:
- Develop and maintain supplier profiles, track performance metrics, and execute supplier sourcing, pre-qualification, and evaluation processes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring competitive pricing and service quality.
- Update supplier scorecards and maintain accurate records for continuous performance improvement.
Sourcing & Negotiation:
- Prepare RFQs (Requests for Quotations) and lead consultations with selected suppliers.
- Lead negotiations with suppliers, focusing on optimizing lead times, quality, and cost-efficiency.
- Develop cost models, analyze market intelligence, and manage financial cases related to procurement.
Customs Clearance & Logistics:
- Plan and execute the end-to-end shipment process, ensuring timely customs clearance and delivery of goods.
- Collaborate with customs brokers and handle documentation to ensure compliance with regulations and avoid delays.
- Track and report on shipping performance, including costs, delivery times, and payment terms.
Stakeholder Management:
- Liaise with internal technical teams to develop RFPs and manage subcontractor engagements.
- Engage with stakeholders throughout the procurement process, ensuring clear communication and alignment with business objectives.
Procurement Strategy & Planning:
- Work closely with the supply and stock teams to identify demand gaps and create procurement plans to address these needs.
- Implement sourcing strategies to meet business goals, ensuring efficiency, cost savings, and alignment with procurement policies.
- Conduct financial analysis, create business cases, and provide insights to support procurement decisions.
Reporting & Performance Tracking:
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly procurement reports, providing detailed insights into procurement activities and performance.
- Track key procurement performance metrics such as cost savings, payment terms, and free cash flow.
- Regularly review and update procurement processes, ensuring continuous improvement.
Compliance & Records Management:
- Ensure all purchases meet company procurement policies and quality standards.
- Maintain records of purchases, pricing, and key procurement data for auditing and decision-making purposes.
Leadership & Team Collaboration:
- Provide leadership to junior procurement staff, offering guidance on sourcing and procurement best practices.
- Collaborate with the procurement team and supply chain manager to ensure cohesive execution of duties and company objectives.
- Undertake any additional duties as assigned by the direct manager.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, & EXPERIENCE
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field).
KNOWLEDGE:
- Comprehensive understanding of international procurement processes, customs regulations, and INCO terms.
- Strong technical and commercial knowledge in sourcing, supplier management, and supply chain optimization.
- Proficiency in understanding supplier manufacturing technologies, industry standards, and supplier controls.
- Proven ability to influence supplier selection and lead strategic procurement activities.
EXPERIENCE:
- 5-7 years of experience in both foreign and local procurement, with a focus on sourcing and customs clearance.
- Strong experience in managing subcontractors and working with customs brokers.
- Previous experience working in a multinational industrial environment is preferred.
- Proven track record of managing procurement projects and optimizing supplier performance.
