SR. PROJECT ENGINEER

Primary Purpose of the Job:

Provide complete project management services for all capital projects assigned to him and covering all aspects of projects from inception to commissioning and handover. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, in a safe manner and in accordance with project requirements, specifications and standards.

Required Experience and Skills:

• Minimum of twelve (12) years of relevant experience in engineering, project management, and execution of power plant projects.
• Proven ability to manage and execute greenfield and brownfield projects within the resource or petrochemical industry.
• Strong background in solar power plant projects.
• Extensive experience managing interfaces with utility companies and third-party entities.
• Demonstrated capability to manage projects independently as the client/owner representative, preferably with an International Oil Company (IOC).
• Coordination with multi-discipline engineers during feasibility studies, concept optimization, FEED, and EPIC phases.
• Skilled practitioner in the following areas:
• Engineering definition activities
• Integration of operational requirements and philosophies into project design
• Detailed design and construction management
• Operational readiness and assurance processes, including commissioning, start-up, handover, and close-out
• Development of project execution strategies and plans
• Project interface management and Management of Change (MOC)
• Performance communication and risk management
• Schedule and resource planning, WBS development with planning department
• Cost and budget management
• Contract administration, including changes and variations
• Procurement of long-lead equipment and materials
• Contractor claims management and resolution
• HSE risk identification and mitigation
• Manage and communicate project performance effectively
• Identify and manage project risks
• Understand and manage GCOC compliance
• Ensure timely procurement and delivery of critical materials
• Strong communication and team-building skills
• Proficiency in presentation and report writing
• Effective management of meetings and stakeholder engagement

Educational Qualifications:

• B.Sc. Degree in Electrical Engineering discipline from any recognized University; higher degree would be advantageous.
• Membership in a recognized professional engineering and/or project management association/institution would be an advantage
