General Description
The Sr. Project Manager, Communications & Enrollment Marketing partners with the the leadership of the Communications & Enrollment Marketing team to provide overall project management, leadership, and direction in orchestrating and executing a wide range of communication projects across the college. The goals are to improve the Communications & Enrollment Marketing team’s client experience and generate value for the team across the college.
Duties and Tasks
  • Manage requests for communications, marketing, graphics, video and website projects from across NOVA (including from within the team itself) from receipt to completion, coordinating among Communications & Enrollment Marketing sub-units to ensure collaboration, high quality and timely delivery of all products.
  • Become the Communications & Enrollment Marketing subject matter expert on the unit’s custom-designed Team Dynamix project management system to be able to train staff members, troubleshoot issues and produce reports.
  • Serve as a Communications & Enrollment Marketing co-liaison to NOVA’s Team Dynamix team.
  • Develop and manage the Communications & Enrollment Marketing team’s processes and procedures, including documenting and maintaining a library and determining and ensuring back-ups for every role.
  • Manage specific projects as requested, such as serving as one of two primary points of contact for the Communications & Enrollment Marketing team on the Commencement team.
  • Write, edit and proofread materials as requested; occasionally serve as a back-up to the editor-in-chief/publications manager or other writers as needed.
  • Create, implement and manage an evaluation and internal reporting process to understand and improve the impact and value add of Communications & Enrollment Marketing products and projects.
  • Provide regular reports to the Communications & Enrollment Marketing leadership team; director, Communications & Enrollment Marketing; and vice president, Strategy, Research and Workforce Innovation.

Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

Minimum Work Experience:
  • Experience successfully managing and delivering projects, preferably in communications, marketing, advertising, or public relations environment.
  • Experience working in continuous delivery environments.
  • Experience writing, editing and proofreading content for a variety of styles and audiences.
  • Experience working on project reports.
  • Experience in TeamDynamix or similar project management systems.

  • Experience in higher education communications, especially community colleges.
  • Experience working in a multi-site organization.
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization.
