About you

You will have a Master’s Degree in public health, MNCH, nutrition, medicine, health systems management, international development and/or a related field including medical degree. You will come with at least 7 years of experience in working with or within public health systems.

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of government policies and programs to address nutrition in Pakistan.

Excellent English language skill (read, write and speak) is a prerequisite and fluency in Urdu is required. Additional benefit if knowing regional languages like Punjabi, Pashtu, Sindhi, etc.


About the role

This position will be instrumental in supporting and working with the National Project Manager and will be responsible for the oversight of implementation of project activities across 8 project districts with a specific focus in three districts. The holder of the position will work closely with partners and be responsible for planning and training of health workers and supervisors in addition to other assigned deliverables across the 8 project districts. The position holder will be a subject matter expert with experience implementing maternal and newborn nutrition projects in Pakistan. This position will ensure high-quality delivery of services and feasibility study activities in the districts and support capturing project learnings. In this role you will be responsible to:

  • Develop annual implementation plans in consultation with NI’s technical teams and CO country management.
  • Work with Project Manager in the development and designing of knowledge products based on the studies and findings for external and internal stakeholders and audiences.
  • In coordination with the Project Manager, and according to the workplan, manage sub- contracting agreements and relations with service providers and consultants/firms of the project, according to Nutrition International procurement policies which includes the development of Terms of Reference (ToR), Request for Proposals and Quotations (RFP) (RFQ), review proposals and consultant/firm selection and contracting.
  • Oversee the performance of vendors against agreements and negotiating corrective actions with them as needed to ensure that technical and operational deliverables, milestones, and quality standards are met.
  • Work with the cross-unit project team and global technical services to generate evidence on feasibility of MMS to inform MMS Scale up recommendations and policy guidelines in Pakistan.
  • Work closely with the MEAL Officer and the technical teams in efforts that will focus on improving data review and use, including supportive supervision data, to support evidence informed decision making from the district, including roll-up to the provincial and national level.
  • In collaboration with technical team members, support the adaptation, design and review of the training curriculum/ manuals and SBCC materials for the Provincial and District Health Facility staff based on learnings from the MMS implementation research project and local and global best practices.
  • Support provincial capacity strengthening for forecasting MMS and sourcing for future needs based on the findings project assessments.
