The Senior Purchase Engineer will be responsible for strategic sourcing, vendor development, cost optimization, and timely procurement of materials, consumables, and services required for fabrication, machining, and assembly activities. The role demands strong knowledge of engineering materials, supply chain practices, vendor negotiations, and ERP-based procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities:Procurement & Sourcing:

• Identify, evaluate, and develop vendors for raw materials, fabrication items, and bought-out components.
• Ensure timely procurement of materials in line with production schedules and project requirements.
• Float enquiries, prepare comparative statements, and negotiate with suppliers for best price, quality, and delivery terms.
• Finalize purchase orders/contracts and ensure adherence to terms & conditions.

Vendor Management:

• Develop and maintain a reliable vendor base for critical engineering items.
• Conduct supplier audits and performance evaluations.
• Build strong vendor relationships to ensure long-term partnerships.

Cost Control & Optimization:

• Analyze purchase spend and implement cost reduction strategies.
• Benchmark prices and negotiate to achieve savings without compromising quality.
• Monitor market trends, raw material price fluctuations, and supply risks.

Process & Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with company’s procurement policies, statutory requirements, and ethical practices.
• Maintain accurate records of procurement, contracts, and agreements.
• Coordinate with quality and stores teams for material inspection, approval, and rejection handling.

Cross-Functional Coordination:

• Work closely with Design, Production, Planning, and Quality teams to understand material specifications and requirements.
• Provide procurement status updates to project management teams.
• Support logistics for timely material availability.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of engineering materials, fabrication processes, and machining components.
• Good negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Tally/other) and MS Office.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on cost and delivery.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹26,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
