SR. QA/QC ENGINEER

Primary Purpose Of The Job

The QA/QC Engineer provides professional technical guidance with full responsibility and accountability for ensuring effective implementation of the Quality Management System across all Offshore Department activities. The role ensures that all projects are executed in full compliance with QatarEnergy Standards, Shell DEPs, and applicable international codes and standards, as reflected in the relevant Project Quality Plans (PQPs). The position also monitors and verifies adherence to quality requirements throughout the project lifecycle to support safe, reliable, and consistent project delivery.

Required Experience And Skills

• 15+ years’ QA/QC experience in oil & gas projects, including strong offshore exposure; minimum 5 years in a senior QA/QC role.
• Certified Lead ISO 9001 Auditor; additional quality‑related professional certifications are an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of international quality codes and standards, and experience developing and implementing Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Hands‑on experience in QA/QC across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing inspection, material certification processes, and related QA/QC practices.
• Solid understanding of offshore construction, welding, and NDE (both conventional and advanced techniques).
• Excellent English communication skills (written & spoken).
• Strong leadership capability to guide and motivate project and contractor QA/QC teams.
  
  

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline from an internationally recognized University, preferably a Mechanical degree. Master’s degree is also preferable.
• Membership of a recognised Professional Institution of relevance is preferable.
