Sr. SharePoint Engineer

The Senior SharePoint Engineer will work as a part of a team of Office 365 engineers supporting mission critical Office 365 deployments. The Senior SharePoint Engineer will support all Bunzl’s business areas with the objective to maximize effective communications and business processes using SharePoint and other Office 365 technologies. This role will be critical in developing and implementing overall SharePoint governance, policy, actively drive technical roadmap development, including defining future architecture designs and information architecture.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in development of SharePoint Online strategy and provide technical leadership to the department
  • Develop SharePoint Online technical integration plans for business acquisitions
  • SharePoint Online Development, Administration and deploying solutions including third party applications with third party applications using CSOM, JSOM, API etc.
  • Develop SharePoint Online sites, pages, web parts, site templates, and content types
  • Administration and troubleshoot SharePoint Online related MS technologies
  • Create and maintain appropriate policies and documentation
  • Develop and present training for the Server Systems team
  • Research, development, and maintenance of SharePoint Online security in accordance with business needs and industry best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance
  • Work in existing trouble ticketing system and self-manage projects in a timely fashion
  • Periodic “Disaster Recovery” drills during non-business hours
  • Participation in periodic 24/7 “on call” rotation duty to field critical server system support issues

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science preferred or a related technical discipline or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience
  • Solid knowledge and trouble-shooting skills with SharePoint Online, SharePoint Servers, Office 365, and related technologies
  • Working experience with MS Active Directory, GPOs, and related technologies
  • Scripting/programming, e.g., VB, and PowerShell
  • Knowledge of basic server security and system health monitoring (Windows, Linux/Unix)
  • Basic administration of MS Exchange email systems
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, with frequently changing requirements
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Customer service oriented
  • Create required reports in response to management & business user needs
  • Occasional travel and after-hours work required
