1. Project Execution & Supervision
- Supervise and coordinate daily on-site construction activities.
- Ensure work is executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and project timelines.
- Monitor progress and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks and milestones.
- Manage and oversee subcontractors, labor, and technical teams on site.
- Resolve technical issues and provide practical solutions to on-site challenges.
2. Quality Control & Assurance
- Implement and maintain quality standards at the site.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure construction meets design and quality specifications.
- Verify materials and workmanship comply with project requirements.
- Coordinate with the QA/QC team to carry out site testing and inspections.
3. Site Planning & Coordination
- Plan daily work schedules and allocate resources (manpower, materials, and equipment).
- Coordinate with project managers, architects, consultants, and clients regarding technical aspects.
- Ensure drawings and specifications are properly understood and followed by site teams.
- Prepare and submit daily/weekly progress reports.
4. Material & Resource Management
- Monitor material usage and ensure efficient utilization to minimize wastage.
- Raise material requisitions and coordinate with the procurement team for timely supply.
- Maintain inventory records and ensure proper storage and handling of construction materials.
5. Safety & Compliance
- Enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies on site.
- Conduct toolbox talks and ensure all workers follow safety protocols.
- Report and investigate any accidents, incidents, or near-misses on site.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
6. Technical Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain site records, reports, and documentation.
- Record site measurements for billing and verification purposes.
- Review and verify contractors’ bills and progress claims.
- Maintain as-built drawings and update site documentation as work progresses.
7. Team Leadership & Communication
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers, supervisors, and foremen.
- Coordinate effectively between various project stakeholders.
- Facilitate smooth communication between the design office and site team.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment on site.
8. Problem Solving & Decision-Making
- Identify technical problems and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Support project management in identifying potential risks and developing mitigation plans.
- Provide engineering input for design modifications and improvements during execution.
9. Project Handover
- Participate in final inspections and snag list clearance.
- Ensure completion of all documentation required for project handover.
- Assist in commissioning and client handover activities.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Diploma with experience may be acceptable).
- 6–10 years of experience in construction/site engineering (experience depends on company size and project type).
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and project management principles.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with software tools such as AutoCAD, MS Project, or Primavera.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- In-depth understanding of safety and quality standards in construction.
