Sr. Steel Structural Design Engineer

Job Summary:

The Senior Structural Engineer- Steel will lead moderate-complexity steel-structure designs for power plants, substations, and energy Projects, mentoring junior engineers, refine design methodologies

Responsibilities:

• Lead analysis and detailed design of steel frames, trusses, and composite decks, slabs, beams, columns.
• Optimize section sizes and connection details for cost effectiveness and constructability.
• Review and stamp steel design packages in line with client specs and code requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers on code application, QA/QC procedures, and best practices.
• Provide commercial input on steel tonnage estimates, risk areas, and cost assumptions during tendering.

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering
• Registered engineer with the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate or equivalent professional body
• 5 years of steel structure experience in the energy, Industrial Projects.
• Proficiency in local codes (ECP), Eurocode, AISC LRFD – U.S. steel design standard
• Fundamentals of fabrication, welding standards, and erection sequencing for industrial and utility steel structures.
• Basic understanding of power-plant and substation structural layouts and loadings
