Job Summary
Illumina is looking for Sr Tax Analyst to be part of the Tax Center of Excellence in India and reports to Tax Manager in India. This role will be India and APAC tax compliance focused and primarily responsible in all aspects of data analysis, tax calculation and reconciliation necessary to meet tax filing, tax audit and statutory audit requirements in APAC region. You will support the Tax Manager in fostering seamless collaboration with global/regional Finance and Tax teams, and other business stakeholders to ensure the adherence of tax compliance governance and efficient tax process maintained in the region.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Job duties include but not limited to:
Compliance and Reporting:

Ensuring timely and accurate filing of various tax returns, including Goods and Services Tax (GST) and TDS (Tax Deducted at Source).

Generation of E-Invoices and E-way bills from NIC portal.
-
Preparing quarterly advance tax, annual income tax computations and annual GSTR-9 and GSTR-9C.

Involve in month-end/statutory audit activities.
-
Managing statutory, tax, and regulatory compliance requirements across direct tax and indirect tax.
Tax Accounting & Provision:
-
Preparing monthly/quarterly tax computations to support US GAAP or IN GAAP provision/deferred tax for Indian entity and other APAC entities.

Maintaining and reconciling tax payable and receivable accounts with accounting records and statutory filings, and ensuring accurate documentation for statutory and tax audits.
Audits & Litigation Support:
-
Supporting statutory audits, tax audits, and transfer pricing documentation requirements (e.g., Form 3CEB).

Assisting with tax assessments and litigation, including managing and responding to numerous tax notices and queries from tax authorities.
Planning & Research:
-
Monitoring changes in Indian tax legislation (e.g., GST/WHT laws) and proactively assessing their impact on the company.

Research tax regulations to address daily inquiry on TDS/GST/withholding tax/SAC coding.

Identifying areas for tax optimization and supporting tax planning initiatives.

Collation and managing all aspects of information necessary for submission in tax audits, inquiries and notices raised by tax authorities.
Other responsibilities:

Perform financial data analysis/schedules/reports necessary for internal and external tax reporting for APAC entities

Collaborating with internal stakeholders to align processes and implementing into the working environment.

Participate in cross-functional projects and tax projects as and when assigned by the Regional Tax Team.
Preferred Educational Background:
-
Chartered Accountant with 2-4 years of post-qualification experience in direct and indirect tax (candidates from Big 4 / Mid-size consulting firms are preferred).

International tax experience desirable (though not mandatory).

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications especially Microsoft Excel and Power query;

Prior experience in SAP (or equivalent ERP system) is preferred;

Good organizational skills, highly detailed oriented and ability to work with minimal supervision and independently;

Ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment and a multi-tasker;

Ability to be flexible and work analytically in a problem-solving environment;

Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
