We're seeking a senior-level Technical Business Analyst with a software development background to lead our Business Analyst team. What do we look for in a technical leader? Extreme ownership. Responsibilities:
Balance hands-on contribution (60% of the time) with personnel management (20%) and maturing our business analyst practice (20%).
Partner with Product Owners, designers, and development teams to translate business requirements into developer-ready specifications.
Fully write or supplement written specifications covering functional, non-functional, and technical requirements.
Produce wireframes for internal web-based tools, as needed.
Analyze 3rd party APIs, data exchange architectures, and integration patterns to support technical projects, including product- and engineering-led projects.
Produce data maps between source and target systems, including transformation logic, data governance considerations, and data flow orchestration.
Analyze existing software applications to document functionality and system relationships.
Facilitate scope validation sessions with Product Owners for completed development work across integrated product areas.
Schedule, plan, and lead initial and ongoing requirements-gathering sessions with stakeholders across multiple teams, ensuring clear communication of decisions and action items.
Own and maintain BA tooling standards, including templates and workflows for the technical business analyst function.
Leverage AI tools to accelerate specification drafting, requirements analysis, and documentation, continuously identifying opportunities to improve team output, quality, and completeness.
Set the vision for your team's area of responsibility and align with senior leadership through OKR planning and execution.
Mentor team members through regular touchpoints, performance reviews, and professional development planning.
Requirements:
5+ years of experience developing software applications and supporting production environments, preferably with a .NET background.
5+ years of extensive experience uncovering and writing detailed technical requirements for enterprise systems, integrations, internal tools, and strategic technical initiatives.
2+ years of experience leading, mentoring, or formally managing other analysts or technical contributors.
Ability to quickly learn complex systems and understand how they integrate within larger organizational and technical contexts.
Experience producing wireframes for complex enterprise web-based tools using modern wireframing tools and user experience methodologies.
Strong technical writing skills with the ability to produce clear, comprehensive specifications that technology teams can execute against.
Skilled at eliciting requirements from stakeholders, including uncovering unstated assumptions, edge cases, and underlying business objectives.
Ability to identify and communicate technical, business, and organizational risks during the requirements process.
Strong attention to detail when documenting system behaviors, data mappings, and acceptance criteria.
Proven facilitation skills, able to lead meetings, manage competing perspectives, and drive groups to decisions.
Ability to balance multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
Effective communicator with both technical and non-technical audiences, adjusting depth and framing as needed.
Experience mentoring and developing other technical business analysts.
Pluses:
Experience with CRM platforms or automotive retail operations.
Experience working with third-party vendors during integration or implementation projects.
Hands-on experience with microservice architecture or event-driven systems.
SQL proficiency or experience with data modeling and BI tools for requirements validation and system analysis.
Experience administering or optimizing Jira workflows and Confluence spaces for analyst or engineering teams.
Exposure to multiple delivery methodologies including Agile, Kanban, and Waterfall.
Experience working effectively in remote or distributed team environments across multiple time zones.
Experience establishing or improving business analyst practices within an organization.
