Navigating Care's mission is to radically reduce the burden of cancer through transformative digital health solutions. We enable oncology clinics to provide personalized, efficient care to every patient by offering relevant educational materials, ensuring the whole care team has visibility into patient issues and needs, and delivering actionable insights to identify and resolve gaps in care. Through our platform, patients receive a holistic service offering that supports their individual goals and needs.

Job Description:

The Sr. UX Designer will report to our Sr. Manager, UX Design and will be a core contributor to launching products and features that have a direct impact on improving the quality of life of people living with cancer. You will own the end-to-end design process for our patient portal and parts of our clinic and internal-facing tools. You’ll partner closely with Product and Engineering to ship aesthetic, intuitive, accessible experiences for older oncology patients, while leveling up our clinic-facing and patient-facing design systems and applying strong systems thinking to simplify complex, interdependent workflows for clinicians. You are a proactive, outcome-oriented critical thinker who actively experiments with AI to improve your design process.

Responsibilities:

  • Own UX products/features from discovery through launch and beyond. Ownership includes UX Research, UX flows, UI designs in Figma, user testing, writing UI copy, and creating engineering specs.

  • Partner with product managers and engineers to contribute to product/engineering requirements.

  • Identify and articulate user needs, build prototypes to test, conduct user research, and refine solutions in the face of data and other findings.

  • Rationalize and articulate design decisions grounded in human-centered design principles.

  • Partner with product managers to define user-centric success metrics.

  • Grow and evolve our design systems with accessible, scalable components, clear component documentation, and shared interaction patterns. Modernize the tokens & variables in the patient-facing design system.

  • Design for system coherence, ensuring new experiences fit elegantly within existing workflows, data structures, and design patterns.

  • Champion accessibility: design, document, and validate accessible patterns for older users and patients with cognitive considerations; partner with Eng on implementation and QA.

  • Give and solicit feedback from other designers in order to continually raise our bar for quality.

  • Share pictures of cute pets, plants, kids, baked goods, or other enticing things (corny jokes and music recommendations also accepted).

  • Other duties as assigned to help drive our mission of improving the lives of everyone living with cancer.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years as a UX/Product designer, with major contributions to multiple shipped products/features.

  • Portfolio of professional work with case studies that demonstrate outcome oriented thinking, UX and visual design capabilities, design process, and contribution.

  • Effectively manages time, prioritizes tasks, and works within deadlines with little supervision.

  • Fulfills multiple product requirements with attention to detail.

  • Comfortable with rapid context shifting in a fun, fast-paced, supportive environment.

  • Hardworking, flexible, and empathetic.

  • Positive outlook and enjoys working in a team.

  • Experience designing responsive products/features.

  • Experience building smart, scalable design system components.

  • Content strategy

  • User research
