Sr. Warehouse Manager

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations supporting Clover Sonoma’s dairy manufacturing and distribution business. This role ensures the efficient receipt, storage, inventory management, order selection, and staging of finished dairy products produced at the Petaluma creamery.

Working closely with manufacturing and transportation teams, the Warehouse Manager ensures product moves efficiently from production to outbound distribution while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, inventory accuracy, and workplace safety.

The role requires strong leadership in a fast-paced refrigerated warehouse environment supporting dairy production and daily route distribution.

A Day in the Life

Warehouse Operations

  • Direct and manage all warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, staging, and outbound loading preparation.

  • Ensure efficient movement of finished goods from manufacturing into warehouse inventory.

  • Oversee pick-to-order processes to support daily distribution routes and distributor shipments.

  • Maintain optimal warehouse layout and product flow to maximize efficiency.

Inventory Management

  • Oversee finished goods inventory accuracy and product rotation (FIFO).

  • Monitor inventory levels, shrink, and waste reduction initiatives.

  • Ensure proper storage and handling of refrigerated dairy products.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and supervise warehouse supervisors and staff across shifts.

  • Provide coaching, performance management, and development of warehouse employees.

  • Adjust staffing levels to meet daily production and distribution demands.

Safety & Compliance

  • Promote and enforce a “Safety First” culture across warehouse operations.

  • Ensure compliance with SQF, GMP, food safety standards, and sanitation requirements.

  • Oversee safe operation of forklifts and material handling equipment.

Process Improvement

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase warehouse efficiency.

  • Develop and maintain warehouse SOPs and training programs.

Administrative Management

  • Manage timekeeping and payroll approvals for warehouse staff.

  • Track and report warehouse KPIs including:

    • Order accuracy

    • Productivity

    • Inventory accuracy

    • Safety metrics

What You Bring to the Team

Required

  • 5+ years of warehouse leadership experience in food or manufacturing environments

  • Strong knowledge of pick-to-order warehouse operations

  • Experience managing large teams in a fast-paced operational environment

  • Experience with ERP systems and warehouse technology (SAP preferred)

Preferred

  • Experience in refrigerated food or dairy operations

  • Experience managing union or mixed labor workforces

  • Bilingual English/Spanish

Education

  • Associate’s degree required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Logistics preferred
