Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Perform account reconciliations and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare and file tax documents such as sales tax, 1099s, etc.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring timely processing of payments and receipts.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting-related issues and provide financial insights.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of Finance/Accounting.

Qualifications

  • Part qualified / Finalist Professional Accountant / Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting or a related field.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Great Plains is a plus) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
