Staff Accountant

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The foremost Fire Protection Contractor in the Greater New York Metropolitan area is seeking a full-time, in-office, Staff Accountant who can manage a variety of functions across multiple companies. Responsibilities include union payrolls, job costing, AIA billing and audit preparation. Candidates should be self-motivated in a highly detail-oriented, fast-paced environment. The Staff Accountant is both internally and externally facing and must provide excellent customer service and quality.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE:

· Weekly union payroll.

· Accounts payable and job costing.

· Accounts receivable/AIA billing experience a plus.

· Monthly financial closing includes union dues, bank reconciliations.

· Semi-annual audit preparation and year end responsibilities.

QUALIFIED APPLICANTS:

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting.

· Construction experience not required, but a plus.

· Proficiency in full Microsoft Suite with high competence in Excel.

· High attention to detail and quality.

· Prioritizes own work based on established deadlines, manages time.

· Ability to prioritize/manage time effectively/excellent attention to detail.

· Strong interpersonal skills; works independently and as a team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
